Gull Lake

Katie + Caleb | Gull Lake Wedding Photography

Katie and Caleb. Sweet, elegant, confident, romantic, pure love. I had the honor of photographing their engagement session at Katie's family cabin and when they changed venues due to this season (you know, 2020...COVID) I was so excited to return and photograph them exchange their vows on Gull Lake.

This post is heavy with images of the stunning fall flowers and Katie's gorgeous bridal look - I couldn't help myself!! Kate with Bloom Designs outdid herself with planning, decor, and floral and Chef Matt with the Woods left the guests cheering after tasty appetizers and a delicious multi-course meal.

While the weather wasn't quite on our side and the dinner was relocated indoors due to the chilly day, everything was still an absolute romantic fall dream - especially the after ceremony boat ride in Katie's dad's wooden boat named after her!

Family | Samara Point on Gull Lake

Erin and her sweet family’s vacation may have had the hottest/highest heat index/humid-crazy-ness day that existed this summer, but that didn’t stop us from documenting a small part of their family time at Samara Point Resort on Gull Lake. I am always amazed at the many hidden gems in the Brainerd Lakes area and the cabins at Samara Point Resort are definitely one of them - what an awesome place for a family getaway! Even with the high humidity, the calm lake and it’s beautiful blue tones were complimented by the lovely greens of summertime and I don’t think there is any better way to enjoy a little bit of Minnesota in July than with family.
